Became a PoW of the Japanese when Hong Kong was surrendered on Christmas Day 1941. Lost when the Lisbon Maru was sunk in the East China Sea by the submarine USS Grouper.

Son of Thomas Sinclair Willis and Elsie Barker Willis, of Bradfield.
Bradfield (St. Nicholas) Churchyard
Lancaster mk I serial PD213 coded WS-F airborne from Bardney at 16:33 on a operation to Politz. On return to base visibility was extremely poor and while trying to land this Lancaster collided with a tree and crashed 0235 22Dec44 near the airfield. Sgt White is buried in Thrybergh (St Leonard) Old churchyard; fellow Yorkshireman F/Sgt Willis is buried at Bradfield (St Nicholas) Churchyard. F/O J.A.Read injured. Sgt E.A.White killed, Sgt N.F.J.Featherstone injured. F/Sgt V.S.Willis killed, F/Sgt D.McArdle injured. Sgt H.B.Rothwell injured. Sgt W.J.W.Linaker injured.
