Son of John Albert and Nellie Stone, of Sheffield.

Lost when vessel sunk in the Mediterranean by U-652 whilst en route Alexandria - Tobruk

Son of Charles George and Etta Wells, of Broomhill, Sheffield.
Alamein Memorial
After serving for two years in North Africa, was taken prisoner in June, 1942. Died when the ship carrying PoWs was attacked and sunk by shell and torpedo by submarine HMS Sahib when 9 miles north of Kuriat, Tunisia when on passage from Tripoli for Trapani. Although there were a few prisoners and crew rescued, the lost resulted in c800 PoWs and 79 Italians loosing there lives.
