Death regd Cirencester. Oxford I - PG986 - 15 AFU. Reported as follows: On Monday night an aeroplane crashed into Newnton Priory, Long Newnton, the residence being destroyed in the resulting fire. Mrs. Pitman and other occupants of the Priory escaped injury, but two aircrew lost their lives in the crash. It is assumed that the aircraft was feeling its way in a sudden snowstorm which was raging at the time.

He was born and resided in Sheffield. 11/4/1945 Pyawbe 12.00hrs, Bridge on main road found bombed, diversion road used, Division arrived PYAWBWE and established box in Wind Farm. L/Cpl Rotherham and L/Naik Chandrabahadwin, 48 Brigade detachment blown up in jeep by mine on entering. L/Cpl Rotherham killed and L/Naik Chandrabahadwin seriously injured. 1 x 3 tonner blown up by mine on main road in town. 17 Indian Div Pro Unit, Unit War Diary WO 172/6995.
